WhatsApp is always a great messaging app. And it has many great features that all people love. WhatsApp has always launched great new features and updates over a period.
Finally It is getting a new feature called “Contact Muting” with always option by replacing 1 Year. Which do not allow users to block notifications from a specific contact for a specific period without actually choosing for how long this is supposed to happen. Means users can block a user for always rather than some short of time which is max one year.
In other words, if you want to mute a contact, you must choose between 8 hours, one week, and one year. So after the period is over the contact is automatically unmuted, so you begin receiving notifications once again muting period is over which is max one year.
In the latest beta build users are getting this feature to test it earlier. After successful testing of the beta version, A stable version will launch for all users. Currently this feature is available in the latest released WhatsApp beta build.
When you mute a contact you now have to choose between 8 hours, one week, and always, so the new option replaces the one year entry to always. This feature is available for both User and Group to mute messages from them.
Beta Version:
WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.20.201.10 version and the WhatsApp Beta version for iPhone 2.20.100.23 have included this feature and are currently in testing phase.
Such small updates should definitely be released much faster to those on Android devices and iPhones. It’s a very small feature which doesn’t require more time for testing, but overall, WhatsApp doesn’t seem to be in a rush to bring new features to its users anyway.
The WhatsApp Beta for iPhone version 2.20.100.23 also adds support for iOS 14 which is currently available for its compatible devices. And WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.20.201.10 is coming with a new Storage UI to help users for categories files in a new way which are saved on phone storage.
