A Facebook profile and a Page serve different purposes. The earlier article described a profile-to-Page migration URL as a universal conversion tool. An old endpoint is not a dependable way to plan an account change.
Choose the destination before moving anything#
Read Meta's Facebook Help Center for the options offered to your account. If you need a Page, use the Page-creation controls currently available rather than assuming that a profile's friends, posts and messages will all become Page data.
Check who will manage it, what information should be public and how access will be recovered if an administrator loses their account. A business presence should not depend on sharing one person's password.
Keep a record of the old account#
Before an account change, review export and backup options and note the existing profile and Page URLs. Confirm the actual result before announcing a new address to followers. Do not authorize an unfamiliar service that promises to unlock a removed migration feature.
